Yesterday I posted about the most common way to make money online using Squidoo by building lenses with affiliate links in them. While most people understand this concept, I also shared with you some key concepts regarding keyword selection that can mean the difference between a lens that gets zero traffic and one that will get very highly targeted traffic. If you have not read that post yet, you can see it here: Make Money With Squidoo.

Now on to the second method that I use t make money on Squidoo, and this one is something most people will overlook, but it can be very lucrative.

I am sure you know that Squidoo will actually pay you for posting your pages on their site. Like many people who have a handful of lenses, I have gotten payment notifications each month, and the grand totals are somewhere in the $1 to $2 range. Not a lot of money, and I never really gave it a second thought.

That all changed, though, when I finally figured out how to get a lens to obtain a high lensrank. One of my lenses cracked the top 200 overall on the site, and suddenly, I was getting much more money for that lens. It started earning me $10, then $20 dollars per month. For one lens. Imagine having 10 lenses that rank high, or 20 lenses. Or you get 50 great lenses out there and become a Giant Squid (my application is submitted, by the way), they make even MORE money.

It is not uncommon at all for someone to be able to build up to $500 or more per month from Squidoo alone. That is in addition to the money you are making off your affiliate links in those lenses.

The morale to this story: take some time with your lenses. Learn to build in great content. Make them interactive and user friendly, and participate in the Squidoo community. Your lensrank, and your wallet, will thank you.
